Manager Government Contracts Hawaii Ship Provisioning
Position Purpose:
The Manager- Government Contracts is responsible for leading a team as they are loading and unloading food provisions on to military ships.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for providing quality customer service and the overall success of the contract
- Responsible for meeting AbilityOne requirements
- Responsible for operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for using products and materials in a safe and efficient manner.
- Responsible for maintaining a Materials Safety Data Sheet binder with current information. This information must be maintained in a central location and reviewed with employees.
- Responsible for ensuring all OSHA standards are met or exceeded
- Responsible for providing a safe work environment, conducting monthly safety meetings and producing appropriate safety communication both in writing and orally
- Responsible for maintaining an equipment maintenance log for each piece of equipment in the span of control
- Responsible for obtaining all appropriate supplies and equipment necessary to perform all duties
- Responsible for ensuring the functions are manned according to the posted schedule. This responsibility includes finding a replacement for employees that calls in sick (when necessary).
- Responsible for acting as the first point of contact for handling employee complaints, assisting employees with their assigned duties and monitoring breaks. The Manager-Government Contracts must be able to assist employees with routine problems and must report a consistent pattern of performance issues to the Assistant Director of Government Contracts.
- Responsible for ensuring employees perform their duties according to contract specifications.
- Responsible for training employees on the safe, effective and efficient use of materials and equipment. Training shall only be delegated to the leads in the Manager-Government Contracts’ absence or when more than one employee is hired at the same time.
- Responsible for documenting employee performance according to procedure. Documentation includes case notes and annual performance evaluations.
- Responsible for completing and/or maintaining routine paperwork for each employee, such as payroll and vacation accrual.
- Responsible for promoting and maintaining positive lines of communication with various Government personnel while performing job duties.
- Responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures as set forth by VersAbility Resources and the U.S. Government
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required, advanced degree preferred Experience:Three to five years supervisory experience required,
Experience working with people with disabilities highly preferred
Skills Knowledge & Abilities:
- Must have the knowledge of the procedures involves in maintaining the operation as per government requirements delineated in the contract
- Must be able to work with minimal error under the stress of time constraints to complete specific tasks
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- May require the ability to obtain secret clearance
Environmental
- Work will be performed in a facility that will contain multiple people performing various tasks.
- Work will be performed in a Government facility. As a result, the employee must be able to pass the background security check performed by the Government.
- Employee will be working in a facility that provides a service to military personnel and employs civil servant personnel.
