Production Worker

Hampton, VA

Position Purpose:

To aid in the manufacturing of goods in an assembly line and/or individually. Assembles or disassembles component pieces of a variety of items manufactured or de-manufactured. Organizes and assures high quality and high quantity work. Operates and maintains equipment used in the performance of work in a safe manner and according to instructions.

Primary Duties:

• Assembling products and parts

• Following production guidelines and specifications

• Finalize and package products for shipment

• Operate and maintain machinery and production line equipment

• Monitor the assembly line and remove faulty products

• Work on the production line to meet production targets

• Inspect finished products for defects to ensure quality standards are met

• Communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure production quotas and deadlines are met

• Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality

• Conduct inspections and quality control of products

• Assist with lifting, carrying and moving heavy loads

• Assembles and disassembles items at established rates

• Maintain a clean work area and equipment

• Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management

• Follow all written and verbal instructions provided by supervisor

• Monitors materials flowing through the production process

• Must remain current on all safety and production trainings

• Promote a positive and professional environment

• Operate company transportation, including commercial truck, forklift and electric pallet jack

• Communicates appropriately with customers, contractors, and company representatives during daily business

• All other duties as directed


Qualifications/Skills Knowledge & Abilities:

• Ability to discern colors, shapes, sizes and materials to sort products

• Ability to read and interpret production documents and safety manuals

• Ability to understand and follow all safety guidelines

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs continuously throughout the course of the work day


Education:
High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent

Experience:
Some prior work experience in manufacturing or production environment preferred, but not required.
