Position Purpose:

Provides food preparation, sanitation and custodial services in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW) incorporated into the contract between VersAbility Resources and the U.S. Government.  Responsible for operating food service equipment in a safe and efficient manner, performing general custodial duties, performing loading dock/areas debris removal.

 

Primary Duties:

  • Ensuring the completion of Food Service Worker duties during the assigned shift through manual performance. These tasks include, but are not limited to, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, wet or dry mopping, pot and pan washing, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, cleaning tables in the dining area, serving on the serving line, operating the dish machine, and cleaning the kitchen area after each meal
  • Responsible for obtaining the appropriate supplies and provided equipment necessary to perform all duties. Ensures supplies and equipment are maintained in a condition that is safe and effective
  • Responsible for participating in meetings and training, as directed by the Manager- Government Contracts or her designee
  • Responsible for maintaining quality standards as outlined in the SOW and administered by those responsible for evaluating quality of services
  • Responsible for promoting and maintaining positive lines of communication with the various Government personnel working in the facility.
  • Responsible for providing quality customer service
  • Responsible for maintaining a sanitary and safe work area
  • Responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education : Highschool Diploma or GED preferred. 

Security: Ability to pass a military background screen to obtain base access required. 

  • Must have a working knowledge of the procedures involved in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of a commercial food service establishment or the ability to learn the procedures, such as the operation of equipment and the proper use and disposal of chemicals
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks without assistance and/or supervision
  • Must be able to work flexible hours in a facility that is open seven days a week, including holidays
  • Must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs., independently

Environmental:

  • Work will be performed in a food service facility that will contain multiple people performing various tasks.
  • This environment will contain large ovens, stoves, mixers and other commercial kitchen equipment that will be operating while the Food Service Attendant is performing their duties.
  • In addition, a commercial dishwasher will be generating heat and humidity during the performance of a variety of tasks, to include operating the dishwasher.
  • Work will be performed in a government facility; the employee must be able to pass the background security check performed by VersAbility Resources and the Government. Employee will be working in a facility that provides a service to military personnel.
